It Brings Music to my ears!

So this is the rest of the goodies he collected on his bread roll trip! I have always wanted an old singer sewing machine and ohh how excited I was to see this amongst all the other goodies!!

Supplies needed:

  • Old Sidetable
  • Chalk Paint – I used my Milk and Pewter coloured chalk mix
  • Paint Brush
  • Old music sheets
  • Mod Podge
  • Sander
  • 120 grit sandpaper
  • Wax

She was a little bit scuffed about and missing some paint from her sides so I gave her the once over with my sander, just to get rid of any loose bits of paint. I get so excited about watching each piece that I start painting come to life again, that I forget to take pictures of each step!!! So I hope through my words, I can provide you with some pictures!! Blogger with L plates right here!!

STEP 1 – Paint 3 coats of Chalk paint, I used my milk coloured chalk mix so that the original white would come through, along with the wood when sanding back.

STEP 2 – Remove the drawer pull. Then give the face of the draw the same amount of coats with the Pewter Coloured Chalk mix or whatever colour you have chosen.

STEP 3 – Then it was off to have a nice date with your sander to bring out the white and the wood!

STEP 4 – Grab your Mod Podge and music sheets. Apply the mod podge to the top of your table. Then place the music sheet over the top. Use an old store card and run over the entire sheet to prevent air bubbles. Once dry then apply several more coats of Mod Podge to protect the music sheets. Ensure they are completely dry between coats.

STEP 5 – Once dry take a 120 grit sanding block and sand around the edges of the table to remove any excess music sheet.
