It’s begining to get a little spooky around here! With Halloween just around the corner it’s time to get busy making and creating all of your Halloween decor. Which matches in perfectly for this months Int’l Bloggers Club because it’s all about Halloween. So today I’m sharing How To Make Wooden Halloween Boo Blocks.
How To Make Wooden Halloween Boo Blocks
There is something so fun about decorating for Halloween. For us it’s the joy and excitment that you see with all the kiddies and parents in our neighbourhood getting together. Getting all dressed up and having a bit of fun and a laugh and creating a sense of community is just something else don’t you think?
Let’s get busy making some wooden Halloween Boo Blocks.
Supplies Needed:
- 3 x 90mm x 90mm x 19mm pine
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Tuscan Orange Sample
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Coal Black Sample
- Boo Stencil – or your favourite stencil
- Cling On! Brush – R 12
- 120 Grit Sand Paper
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Clear Wax
- Wax Brush
- Foam Wedge
- Orange Ribbon
- Black Ribbon
- Yellow Ribbon
- Jute
- Glue Gun
- Co-ordinating black buttons
Step 1 – Using your brush give your wooden blocks 2 coats of Tuscan Orange, letting each coat dry in between.
Step 2 – Peel away the backing tape from your Boo Stencil and apply to your blocks. Then using your foam wedge pounce on your coal black. Let dry. Then using your sandpaper distress to your liking. Using your wax brush seal all of your hard work with clear wax.
Bow making time!
Step 3 – Using all of your 3 ribbons cut equal lengths a bit wider than the wooden blocks.
Step 4 – Flip over your ribbon and using some jute tie all 3 ribbon pieces together and tie the jute into a doule not to secure.
Step 5 – Using your glue gun secure the bows to the top of each block. Then glue a button in the center of the bow.
Then get busy decorating or giving a fun gift for Halloween!

OMW Sam, that’s such a cool stencil. Love the font….. it’s so ghost-ishly spooky. And the buttons on the bow. Mmmmmmmm I have such a huge collection of buttons, I’m going to have to dig in and save a few of those to make this
I hope you have fun, Michelle!!
