Over the Christmas Holidays, I came across some polystyrene shaped hearts in my craft stash. Not sure how long I have had them for but knew they would come in handy when Valentines Day came around. So today I’m sharing How To Make Vintage Farmhouse Hearts Using Drop Cloth.

This is also a fun challenge that I thought I’d join up to over on Instagram. Where we have to use 3 ingredients and make a project. Be sure to pop on over and take a peek. Just search the #3ingredientchallenge hashtag to find loads more fun projects.
Supplies needed:
- Polystyrene Hearts
- Drop Cloth
- Coordinating Scrapbook Paper – I used some Vintage Small Rose Crackle paper that was in my scrap pile.
- Glue Gun
- Decorative Scissors
- Scissors
- IOD – Stone Gray Decor Ink
- Lace
- IOD – Knob Toppers Decor Stamps
- IOD – Brayer
Step 1 – Cut and tear strips of drop cloth about 1.5″ wide. Begin to start wrapping the drop cloth strips around the hearts firmly. Using your glue gun to anchor down the drop cloth onto the hearts. Repeat until all of your hearts are covered.
Handy Hint
Start and finish winding the drop cloth in the middle of the heart. Because this gives the heart more shape.
Step 2 – Grab your Knob Topper Stamps and chose which designs you would like on your hearts. If this is the first time that you are using them give the back of the stamps a light sand. This gives the ink a better surface to adhere to.
Step 3 – Using your decorative scissors cut out some circles for your hearts from scrapbooking paper. I cut these circles approximately 2cm wide. Then pop out some ink onto an old tile or a plate because you don’t want to use anything porus. You won’t need much as it goes a long way. Stamp your chosen designs onto the paper. I used the smaller Knob Topper Stamps for this project.
Step 4 – If you wanted to add some lace or ribbon around your hearts here would be the easiest time to do it. Glue on your stamped paper using your glue gun.
And your all done!
Now it’s time to get busy adding them to your decor!
