Quite often you come across galvanised buckets at the thrift store but they are not the right colour or style for your home. Today for Waste Not Wednesday we’re going to have some fun making over not one but two that I grabbed out of my stash. Let’s see how to make a Vintage Farmhouse Galvanised Bucket using Decor Tranfers.

Welcome back to Waste Not Wednesday! For those who have been following along for a while, you’ll know Waste Not Wednesday as a linky party. But Leanna and I have decided to change things up a bit. Each Wednesday we will be bringing you fun projects not only from us but some of our favourite bloggers. This week’s theme is Buckets!
Supplies needed:
- Old Galvanised Bucket
- TSP
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Coal Black

Step 1 – Give your buckets a really good clean with TSP. Then scuff sand with 120 grit sandpaper. Paint your bucket inside and out twice with Coal Black, letting each coat dry in between.
Step 2 – Line up your lemon drops decor transfer in a design of your choice and apply with the applicator.
Step 3 – Pop out some Casement and load up your brayer. Apply to the back of your Kindest Regards Stamp and lightly apply to your bucket. Ensure that you go with the curve of the bucket. Stamp to your liking and let dry.
Almost there!
Step 4 – Using your wax brush seal your bucket with clear wax. Let sit and buff off any excess wax.
Now the fun part! Decorate with your new Vintage Farmhouse Buckets! They would also make great storage buckets for your craft room or even in the kitchen for your cooking utensils.
Here is my dear friend Leanna’s beautiful Farmhouse Buckets that you can make too!

These buckets are so trendy Sam, I love the lemon transfer. Coal black is my favorite paint ever, what a pretty makeover.
