Book Pages are one of my most favourite things to use when making things and also when decorating. So with this month’s Creative Blog Hop where it’s all about paper. I thought I’d share a fun Vintage Farmhouse Book Page Thrifted Plate Frame that you can make too.
Vintage Farmhouse Book Page Thrifted Plate Frame
Supplies needed:
- Old Frame
- Book Pages
- Sweet Pickins Milk Paint – Top Coat
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Champlain
- Paint Brushes
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Beeswax Block
- 120 Grit Sandpaper Block
- Our Nest Decal or a stencil. If you decided to stencil you would need some black paint and a spouncer.
- E6000 Glue
Step 1 – Remove the glass from your frame. Then using your beeswax block rub over the entire frame where you would like to see the wood of the frame come through after distressing.
Step 2 – Give your frame 2 coats of paint, letting dry in between.
Step 3 – Lay out your book pages over the backboard of the frame. Just to make sure you have enough pages to cover the backboard.
Step 4 – Using a brush and some Top Coat start applying your book pages to your backboard. Make sure you smooth out any air bubbles as you go. Once dry use your sanding block to remove the excess paper from around the backboard.
Step 5 – Apply your vinyl decal or paint your stencil to your plate.
Step 7 – Center your plate in your frame and glue. Let dry.
Using old treasures and turning them into something new is always a fun thing to do! A simple project that you can make in one afternoon!
