With Christmas come and gone, the top of our vintage farmhouse drawers in the kitchen was in need of a change. Over the holidays this was set up as a Hot Cocoa Bar. So with using lots of the same elements, I’m sharing how to make a Simple Farmhouse Valentines Vignette.

Without doing much to the tiered stand, simply swapping out the coloured straws to a pretty Valentines pink and the Christmas Baubles to some pink ranunculus that I found at Ikea last year for $2.99AU, starts to set the tone for the vignette.

Adding a small white milk jug to the top of the rustic wooden box, pop in another Ranunculus resting on a pink tea towel continues carrying the soft valentines pink through the vignette. Some heart candy which I found in The Gingerbread House in Katoomba for $2.00, also sprinkled around on a wooden paddle adds a nice touch.

Adding some small white tea cups that I had on our teacup Christmas tree to the top of the cake stand with the heart lollies spilling out then tied in with the wooden paddle.

Finally adding in some little wooden hearts that I have used in other vignettes made it out of the drawers and placed in the vignette.

So just to recap:

  • Always shop your house first.
  • When your out thrifting/shopping buy things that you know you will use again and again.
  • Try and keep similar colourings throughout your vignette.

Also, make simple wall art that will complement your vignette.

  1. Your Valentine’s Vignette looks lovely with the pink tones and little touches. I love swapping out things throughout the year for different styles and holidays, so much fun! Your wallart is one of my all time favourites!! Thank you for joining in on the hop Sam 🙂

  2. Love this vignette, Sam! It’s got a pretty and casual vibe, which I adore. Great tips too. Shopping our homes first is probably the best piece of advice. I think we often think we need to go out and purchase items for that perfect vignette. But, truthfully, the perfect vignette is that unique collection of items that we already cherish and love.

      1. Hello Sam,

I am completely in love with your tiered tray! I know this may be a long shot (especially from the US), but do you recall where you got it?
I have searched and searched for one like it since I stumbled upon your adorable set up several weeks ago. This set up is ADORABLE!!!

        1. Hi there Molly, I sure do! I actually got if from the US!! You guys get the best stuff over there!! I found it through Decor Steals. If you sign up for their email they send you notifications of the daily steals. I have seen these trays come up a few times. I will keep an eye out and let you know if it comes up again. Good luck!!

          1. Hi Sam,

Thank you very much! Funny enough, this exact tray popped up this week in a FB group (another woman was looking for this one too). I will keep watching for it.

Thank you for sharing. Love your work!
