After a recent trip to the thrift shop with a sweet friend of mine, I came across 2 glass crochet covered coasters 2 glass candle holders! The coasters were the main thing that caught my eye because I just loved the crochet detail on them. They sure did get my creative juices flowing! So to stumble upon the candle holders they became a project in the making. All together they came to a total of $2.50. What a bargain !! That’s the little story behind how my Repurposed Vintage Farmhouse Candle Holders project came to life!  As always I love to share with you how easy and simple it is to repurpose thrifted finds to add a little something unique to your home decorating!

Supplies Needed:

  • 2 x glass candle holders
  • 2 x glass coasters – Any round ones will do the trick. Then you can add your own round doilies to the base of them by dotting glue around the edges of the coasters.
  • E6000 Glue
  • Jute
  • Scissors
  • Music Sheets
  • Numbers – I used a sheet of scrapbooking numbers that I had in my craft stash. But I found these cute number brads from Tim Holtz that would do the trick also. You could just push them into the candle and then pull them out when the candle is finished.
  • Scrapbooking glue dots
  • Double Sided scrapbooking tape
  • 2 x white pillar candles

Step 1 –  Glue the coasters to the top of the candle holders and let dry. I let mine dry for 24 hrs.

Step 2 – Cut strips of the music sheets to the desired width, ensuring that they go completely around the candle.

Step 3 – Taking your double sided tape join the music sheet strip together at the back of the candle. So that they overlap and can be fastened down with the tape. Don’t stick the tape to the candle but to the music sheet so that you can remove and use on other candles once the candle is used.

Step 4 –  Cut a long enough piece of jute to wrap around the candle a few times and then tie a bow at the front of the candle.
