I found this plain and boring tray at my local thrift store and with Christmas not too far around the corner I decided to do something a little Christmassy and make a Quick Easy Santa Treat Tray.
Quick Easy Santa Treat Tray
I got nice and busy with my paintbrush and gave the back and the front 3 coats if my Milk Coloured Chalk Paint, making sure that in between each coat is completely dry. Then using 120 grit sandpaper, sanded away until I reached the desired distressed effect that I LOVE!
Then I printed out the words “Merry Christmas Santa” in one of my favourite fonts
AFL Pespayeusing my printer and traced onto the top of the tray using graphite paper and my stylus.
Using my liner brush and Americana Lamp Black Paint, I then painted my lettering on.
The rest of the design I drew freehand but if you googled Christmas Colouring in images you will get tonnes and tonnes of great Christmas images that you could trace onto your tray’s or dive in and make a design yourself!
I then set to with my liner brush and painted away using Americana Lamp Black paint.
Once dry, I again distressed with 120 grit sandpaper and da daaaaaa there you have a Sweet Quick and Easy Santa Treat Tray to pop out on Christmas Eve for Santa!
Happy creating and until next time!
