We have been going through quite a transition throughout our home. Our taste for decorating has definitely changed, moving towards Vintage Farmhouse. With hubby growing up in the country and me spending many wonderful holidays with my grandparents in the country, we love just love all things old. We hope to one day move back and buy a farmhouse fixer-upper but for now, we just love making our surrounds what we love. So today I’m sharing Simple ways to add a Neutral Farmhouse Decor to your Home.

If you have been following me for a while you know that we have a red sofa! So as you can imagine it no longer fits in with our farmhouse look. We didn’t want to get rid of it because it is the comfiest sofa in the word. So up until last week when I was able to find a sofa cover, drop cloths have surely done the trick! And they are an inexpensive way to freshen up an old couch!

I was hoping that this sofa cover would have arrived before this post was due to go live but it is coming in from the US so has taken a little longer than expected. The soft grey ticking will add some texture to our living room and fit in perfectly with our Vintage Farmhouse Decor.

The beauty of keeping things neutral is that you can add pillows and other soft furnishings like throw rugs to add some colour.

Wire baskets are one of my favourite things to use when decorating. Not only do they add character but they are great for storage. Baskets can be hung on the wall, hung from an old ladder or simply placed on the top of a Sideboard. The possibilities are endless! I found these ones at Kmart Australia but you can find some similar ones here.

Neutrals and greenery always are a fabulous mix and again go with all colours. There are so many great faux trees and bushes available now. Especially if you live in part of the country where indoor plants just don’t survive they are perfect and look real. This olive tree was also found in Kmart Australia but you can find a similar one here.

These extra large Storage Baskets are also on their way from the US and will be used to store goodies in our cubby hole Ikea Shelf which I have painted and will share with you at a later date.

Old lace tablecloths are one of my favourite things to use as throws throughout our home. You will see them throughout my Instagram feed on the couch or even at the end of our bed. They just add a beautiful Vintage Charm and don’t break the bank. Boxwood wreaths also are another great faux greenery.
