Like with most things in life it’s important to have good tools that you can rely on. Whether you’re in the kitchen cooking, out in the garden, building something or painting furniture all the things we use can affect the final result of your project.
So to get started on your furniture painting journey in the right direction I have popped together a must-have painting tools list to get you on your way! Along with a list of the products I use when painting furniture for your reference.

- Disposable Masks from Bunnings
- Bosch Multi Sander
- Painters Tape
- Drop Cloth – I usually buy them at Aldi when they are in stock. They are usually around the $10 price mark
- Baby Wipes
- 40 grit, 60 grit, 80 grit, 120 grit, 220 grit & 320 grit sandpaper.
- Lint Free Cloths
- Wood Filler – I usually always have on hand a white and a brown filler and fill the holes accordingly to whatever colour I am going to paint
- Spatula – this is a neat little tool that helps apply the wood filler.
- Fusion Mineral Paint – TSP or Dixie Belle – White Lightening
- Dixie Belle Boss – comes in White, Gray & Clear
- Cling On! Brushes and Madeline Wax Brushes
- Paint Rollers
- Paint Sprayer
- Tough Coat or Clear Coat Applicator
- Miss Mustard Seed – Wax, Fusion Mineral Paint – Wax, Sweet Pickins – Wax or Oil Wax, Dixie Belle Wax
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Tough Coat, Miss Mustard Seed – Tough Coat, Sweet Pickins – Top Coat , Dixie Belle – Clear Coat
