Raise your hand if you love wooden chairs but can’t sit on them for too long!! Yep that would be me too! I’ve been keeping an eye out for some Chair Pads that would help out a little with this situation and was recently in Ikea and came across some that would fit in perfectly with our decor. There is nothing worse than sitting down to dinner with the family and then wanting to play a board game afterwards and being uncomfortable. So today I’m sharing a fun Ikea Norna Farmhouse Chair Pad Hack to banish a numb toosh!
Ikea Norna Farmhouse Chair Pad Hack
Supplies needed:
- Ikea Norna Chair Pads
- Foam Wedge
- Number Stencils
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Coal Black Sample
- Old Store Card
Step 1 – Remove the backing paper from your stencil and align in the centre of your chair pad. Once in place press firmly with an old store card and then remove the clear transfer paper.
Step 2 – Grab your foam wedge and paint. Pop some paint out onto an old plate or tile. Dab your wedge into your paint and then dab onto the plate. Because you don’t want to much paint on your wedge to avoid the paint bleeding. Let dry.
Step 3 – Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all of your chair pads are stencilled and dry.
Step 4 – Remove the stencil.
And there you have an easy fun way to add a nice farmhouse touch to some plain chair pads!
Happy Painting and Creating!

Love this Sam!
Thank you, Deborah!
Clever and pretty, they look so much better!! And if you ever wanted to have them plain you could just turn them around.
For sure Katrin! Great idea! I was thinking of stencilling grain sack on the other side!
These are just lovely! I can NEVER get a clean edge like you have! Thanks for hosting Waste Not Wednesday, and for sharing these with us!
My pleasure Julie!! It’s so lovely to have you join us each week!!
I neeeeeed to get me some of these Sam. I swear half the reason my butt is so flat is because I spend so much time in front of the laptop sitting on a wooden chair 😀 And adding the stencils makes it looks so pretty too.
Yup!!! I totally hear you, Michelle!! It’s quite uncomfortable!! At least now it won’t be lol!
