Last month for Int’l Bloggers Club I made some Halloween Boo Wooden Blocks which were super fun to make. So now with Christmas upon us it’s that fun time to start making Christmas goodies.
Supplies needed:
- Rubber Ball – I found this one in the Reject Shop
- Flannel
- Scissors
- Burlap Wired Ribbon
- 2 x Christmas Picks – I found these ones at the Dollar Shop but these ones from Amazon will do the trick
- Christmas Berries – I found these ones at the Dollar Shop but these ones from Amazon will do the trick also
- Jute
- Hot Glue Gun
- Garbage bag ties or pipe cleaners
Step 1 – Cut a 32″ square out of your flannel and wrap your ball. Secure in place with jute tightly. Pull the flannel up from the top to tighten any loose flannel around the ball.
Step 2 – Take your brulap wired ribbon and measure 5″, twist and then measure another 5″. Loop and then go back to the center where the twist is twist again and measure a further 5″. Repeat this process twice.
Step 3 – Take your garbage bag tie or your pipe cleaner and secure the bow in the center.
Step 4 – Cut a 20″ piece of the burlap wired ribbon and twist in the center at 10″. Using another tie attach to the back of your bow. Cut a triangle in the bottom of the bow tails.
Step 5 – Using your glue gun, glue the bow in place and then your berries to the center of the bow. Then glue your picks behind the bow.
Step 6 – Cut a loop of jute to your desired length and knot at the end. Open the top of your giant bauble and glue into place. Use the end of a skewer push the loop firmly into the top of the bauble before the glue dries.
Once the glue is all dry, your new Giant Christmas Bauble is all ready to be hung. They would be so fun hanging from a front porch don’t you think?

How fun is this! I love giant ornaments hanging from trees outdoors but I could see these lovely giant flannel Christmas baubles hanging in a front porch or an overhang above a front door. Talk about statement Christmas decor!
Thank you so much, Marie! For sure they would look awesome too hanging from the roof at all different levels above a tablescape! So fun!!

What a brilliant idea Sam. We have these huge beach balls that the kids left behind when they moved to Canada and I think I’ll be repurposing them soon to make some of these. Go big or go home right 😀
