There are so many fun things to make for Easter and every year my list just keeps growing. This year I am super excited to be getting some of those things off my list and share with you. So for today’s Int’ Bloggers project were are going to see how to make a Farmhouse Topiary Easter Bunny Bucket.
How To Make A Farmhouse Topiary Easter Bunny Bucket
These tins were from our wedding 6 years ago and just couldn’t bear to get rid of them. This is going to be one of the easiest Easter crafts you have ever made for decorating or to give away as a gift.
I love to be able to make quick crafts sometimes. Especially when a lot of my projects are furniture makeovers and take they can time, especially if the piece needs some repairs.
How can I make the fabric stiff if I don’t have any fabric stiffener?
Here’s one way that you can make the fabric stiffer. I love using Fusion Mineral Paint – Tough Coat to make the fabric stiffer in my projects. And this all came about because I had no fabric stiffener left and my closest craft store is over an hour away. It drys nice and clear and keeps whatever fabric you using nice and stiff for your creations.
Do you need to water the Tough Coat down?
You sure don’t!! It is the perfect consistency to just paint straight on to your material. I like to use a 1″ brush when applying the tough coat. Just make sure that the material that you are using that the tough coat is nicely absorbed.
Supplies needed:
- Tin bucket or you can find the complete Bunny Buckets over in my SHOP
- 1 x topiary ball split in half. (See the video tutorial to see how easily they come apart)
- Burlap
- Fusion Mineral Paint – Tough Coat
- White felt
- Scissors
- Bunny template
- Glue Gun
- Burlap Ribbon
Step 1 – Print out your bunny ear template and cut out your bunny ears.
Step 2 – Using your glue gun, glue one felt ear to the burlap ear.
Tough Coat Time
Pop some tough coat out onto a lid or a paper plate and apply with your brush.
Let the ears completely dry.
Step 4 – Take your burlap ribbon and make a nice big bow and then glue onto the front of your bucket.
Step 5 – Using your glue gun, glue your ears to the inside of the bucket. Use your ears as a guide to find the centre of the bucket. Make sure you scrunch up the base of the ears to give a bit of a dimension to your ears.
