How To Use Farmhouse Thrifted Finds As A Table Centerpiece
With Mother’s Day coming up, using the recent milk painted pieces after a thrift shop in our garage, I wanted to create a table centrepiece that can be enjoyed for when family come to celebrate and also keep for around for a while. Most of these things that you see have been thrift store finds and used in other tablescapes or decorating that you will find here on my blog. I encourage you to shop your house first before running to the shops to spend money.
Supplies needed:
-
- Thrifted Lace Table Cloth
- Thrifted Candles Sticks
- Faux Flowers – I would have loved to have used real flowers but we are heading into Winter here and there were no fresh flowers for me to pick 🙁
- Thrifted Wooden Items – See how I transformed these goodies using milk paint
- 4 x small music sheets rolled up
Step 1 – After you have had fun either shopping at a thrift store or shopping your home it’s time to give them a fresh new look. To see how I transformed these finds see here.
Step 2 – So just like painting, when decorating your centerpiece you always start with a blank canvas.
Step 3 – Using your thrifted tablecloth scrunch it down the middle of your table.
It’s building time!
Step 4 – Then you want to take your main pieces, like the lazy susan and the candlesticks that you see here. Then work out your layout. Because the candlesticks are so big I had to make something big for the center of the table. So I started with the lazy susan and then added the cake stand on top.
Step 5 – To add further height I added a jug with some flowers. To fill the holes around the lazy susan I used my thrifted vintage salt and pepper shakers, with some faux, rose heads to blend in with the rest of the centerpiece.
Step 6 – Using some repurposed coaster candle holders I made a few years ago they were added to either side of the cake stand and lazy susan.
Now have fun sprinkling your magic!
Step 7 – Scatter some faux rose heads and music sheets around your tablecloth.
Step 8 – Add some more candles. For the huge candlesticks, I used some topiary balls that I found at the Reject Shop.
Step 9 – Light your candles and your good to go.
Now your table is all set ready for your next special occasion. Just add some placemats and your favourite set of cutlery! Yes, you may need to move some goodies when you sit down to eat but it’s your own private little special place for a moment!

The way you layered this is absolutely fantastic Sam. I love the height of your centrepiece. Its a knack that takes practice, you’ve inspired me.
Thank you so much, Leanna! It was fun trying to figure out how I was going to get the height to work with those giant candlesticks! The main thing was hubby was pretty happy with how they turned out too!
Amazing upcycle Sam, I absolutely love this! I really like the music note added touch and am such a fan of your work. Great job, and I’m so very inspired.
Aww, Chas, you are so very kind! Thank you! I’m so happy that you’ve been inspired! You have made my day, Thank you!!
It looks lovely Sam, so striking with those really tall candlesticks on the sides. Tall centerpieces are a favourite of mine since you can often leave them on the table and they don’t interfere with the conversation
Thank you so much lovely!! Your words mean the world!! x

Oh me too, Deborah! Thank you for your sweet comment!
