This little farmhouse Bunny Door hanger is such a fun project for you to make in one afternoon! If you don’t have access to power tools you could always use a bunny cut out that you find at your local $2 Shop and sand it back and then paint away!
How To Make A Farmhouse Bunny Door Hanger
The first thing you need to do is get yourself a bunny template! And over on Pinterest you will find a tonne of different templates. I drew the bunny that I used, after seeing it over there and then blew it up to go over 2 pieces of A4 pieces of paper.

Let’s Get Painting!
Supplies needed:
- Plywood – I used 400mm x 500mm x 7mm
- Pencil
- Jigsaw
- Drill
- 120 grit sandpaper
- Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint – Farmhouse White
- Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint – Trophy
- Brush – I used my Cling! On R12 and F30
- Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint – Wax Puck
- IOD Decor Stamp – Rose Toile
- IOD Ink – Black
- Brayer
- Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint – Beeswax
- Flower
- Glue Gun
- Claw Hook
Step 1 – Trace around your bunny template on to your plywood. Mix up your Farmhouse White and Trophy Milk Paint. I used 1 tsp of powder to 1 tsp of warm water. Let sit to combine mixing intermittently while you cut out your bunny.
Step 2 – Using your drill, drill holes where the pattern changes direction because this makes it much easier to get your jigsaw in there and gives you nice sharp turns.
Cutting time!
Step 3 – Using your jigsaw start cutting out your bunny along the lines.
Step 4 – Grab your sanding block and sandpaper and sand your bunny getting rid of any rough edges.
Step 5 – Using your brush, give your Farmhouse White a mix and then give your bunny a coat of paint. Let dry and then repeat. Once dry rub over the entire bunny with the wax puck. Then give the bunny 2 coats of Trophy letting each coat dry completely.
Distressing Time!
Step 6 – Grab your sandpaper and distress to your liking.
Stamping Time!
Step 7 – Load up your brayer with ink and then apply to your stamp. Then stamp, if you don’t feel comfortable just free stamping use some transfer film to pick up your stamp and then stamp.
Step 8 – Build up your design using various different stamps from the set. Let dry completely and then distress to your liking. Wax to seal in all of your hard work! Attach a hook to the back of your bunny and then glue on the flower as a cute bunny butt.
And your all done!
Now he’s all ready to be hung on your front door, wall or old window frame.
Don’t have time to make one? I’ve got you covered! You can find them over HERE in our Shop!
