With Valentines not too far away, I always like to try and make some simple home decor that I can pop around our home. So today I’m sharing how to make Easy Farmhouse Stamped Valentines Tea Towels that you can make too. This simple craft can be adapted to any season and you’ll have lots of fun designing and making them.
How To Make Easy Farmhouse Stamped Valentines Tea Towels
We can never have enough tea towels in the kitchen! So after making some similar tea towels at Christmas and having a serious crush on Iron Orchid Design Decor Stamps, I thought I’d have a go at making some for Valentines Day but I’m sure they will be used all year round because I love them so much!
Supplies needed:
- Ikea Tea Towels – Don’t have time to make them? You can find them already made over in my SHOP!
- IOD – Typsetting Decor Stamps
- IOD – Queen Bee Decor Stamps
- Brayer
- IOD – Stone Gray Ink
- 2 x A4 paper
- Scissors
- Sticky Tape
- IOD – Kindest Regards Decor Stamp
- Iron
Step 1 – Give your tea towels a really good iron to get out most of the wrinkles.
Step 2 – Lay out your design onto your tea towel, stamp down. For this design, I used the Queen Bee and Typesetting Decor Stamps. Then using some of the transfer film press down onto your design to pick up all of the stamps. Because you only get one set of letters to make sure before you apply the transfer film to space out your letters and leave enough room. Pop out some ink onto an old tile or a plate. Load up your brayer with ink.
Handy Hint:
If it is the first time using your stamps rub the stamp side lightly with some sandpaper. Because this helps the ink adhere better.
Step 3 – Flip over your design and carefully place onto your tea towel. Run over your design with your fingers and then carefully remove. Then taking the e apply some more ink and add the blank areas to complete your design.
Step 4 – For the second design, join 2 pieces of A4 paper together with some sticky tape and cut out a heart. Place the heart template onto your tea towel.
Step 5 – Using your brayer apply ink to your Kindest Regards Decor Stamp. Flip the stamp over and apply. The heart shape acts as a stencil so the script only goes in the heart. Let the ink completely dry.
Step 6 – Line up the word love using the lower case of the typesetting design, stamp side down. Then apply the transfer film, flip, ink and apply to your tea towel.
Step 8 – Let your tea towels dry overnight. Then set your iron to high and heat set the designs.
There are so many different designs that you could make. Not just for Valentines Day!

Love the tea towels Sam. Super cute. I really like how you did the script inside the heart.
Thank you so much, Linda! It was a fun little project!
Can you wash them ?
Hi Natasha, As long as you heat set them really well yes you can wash them. They come up beautifully 🙂
I am in LOVE with these tea towels. You can do anything with paint!!!
Hugs,
Kippi
That you most defiantly can. I have not tried stamping paint on these tea towels yet. Ink is my go-to because I love the vintage feel it gives 🙂
Hi Sam,
I have been wanting to buy from the Iron Orchid and now I’m hooked.
Love these so much and romantic at its best.
I’ll be back to Pin. I’m going to be giving this effect a try. Perfect for our French cottage.
