My hubby and I have just recently celebrated our First Year Wedding Anniversary! It is so hard to believe that a whole year has already scooted by!! Being the traditional person that I am, the first year theme is paper. So I decided to make hubby a special DIY Wedding Anniversary Gift Idea.

Supplies needed:
- A4 White Card
- Pic Monkey
- 8″ x 10″ frame – I used one that I had already from my Easter Printable which I LOVE but Amazon has a similar frame which would work a treat.
- Optional- Lace for embellishment
Head on over to Pic Monkey and click on the design tab. Select the 8″ x 10″ size design. Then scoot over to the overlay tab on the left hand side of the screen and click the texture tab (it is the one with the kris cross pattern). Select the boards tab and choose the first board. That then makes your design area turn into an instant black board.
Then design away at your hearts content using the text and different overlays in Pic Monkey. Pending on what fonts are on your computer you can use those or the standard fonts that are installed in Pic Monkey. I chose a verse that was read out at our wedding and means the world to both of us.
“Love is always patient and kind.
Its never jealous.
Love is never boastful or proud or rude.
Love does not demand it’s own way.
Love is not irritable.
And it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.
It is never glad about injustice.
But rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up, never losses faith.
It is always hopeful.
And endures through every circumstance.
Love will last forever.”
{Corinthians 1 Chapter 13}
You could do the same with your vows or the words to your favorite song, a verse that was read…. anything that means something to you both!
If you like my design and don’t want to design your own, or simply just don’t have the time, feel free, for a tiny small cost, to download here and you can make your own DIY Wedding Anniversary Gift Idea!
Then once you have finished designing simply save the image to your computer and print away. Cut out and then insert into your frame. As I used a slightly larger frame I embellished the sides of the frame with some grubbied up lace which we used around our candle jars at our wedding. This is where you to can incorporate things that you used and have kept from your wedding into your design.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our first year wedding anniversary with a nice romantic dinner at home!
Let’s see what the next year brings!
