Who else loves working with old pallets? There is just something about tearing a pallet apart and then putting it back together in a different form! My love for pallets all started because I needed to fix a bathroom dilemma! After admiring some really cool bath caddy’s in shopping catalogues but with a BIG price tag, it was never an option as they were totally out of our budget! So my first Rustic pallet Bath Caddy Project came to life and then some Farmhouse pantry signs and now a DIY Rustic Farmhouse Pallet Table Runner.
DIY Rustic Farmhouse Pallet Table Runner
Supplies needed:
- An old pallet 3 slats
- Drill/Drill Bits
- Screws
- Sander
- 2 pieces of scrap wood smaller than the width of the 3 pallet slats put together
- Deco Art Chalky Finish Paint
- Paint Brush
- Clamps
- Hammer
- Wood Wedge/Crowbar
- Non-skid pads
Step 1 – Using the Chalky Finish paint apply one coat and let dry ensuring to paint both sides and edges.
Step 3 – Take your sander and 120 grit sandpaper and sand to distress. Wax to seal.
Step 4– Using the exact same technique as my DIY Rustic Pallet Bath Caddy assemble the painted pallet pieces.
Step 5 – Attach the non-slip pads to the underneath of the table runner to prevent scratching your table top. It will also prevent it from sliding around.
Easy peasy! There you have a fabulous DIY Rustic Farmhouse Pallet Table Runner to adorn your dining room table!
I can’t wait to use it to decorate our table with and also it will be fun to use when entertaining! It’s amazing how a beat up old pallet can bring so much joy to your home! Who knows where my next pallet project will take me! Do you have a favourite pallet project?
