Welcome back for another fun Quick Tip Painting Tuesday! My apologies for missing last week. Let’s just say they it was one of “those” weeks. But not to worry, because today it’s all about How To Clean Your Cling On Brushes.
Quick Tip Painting Tuesday – How To Clean Cling On Brushes
Having a good paint brush is key to getting a nice finish when using paint. Whether it be for painting furniture or a canvas, it’s always good to spend just that little extra on paint brushes and even more importantly look after them.
Supplies needed:
Step 1 – After you have finished painting your masterpiece, run your brush under water until the water becomes clean massaging the bristles making sure that there is no paint up near the bridge of the brush. Shake off excess water.
Step 2 – Pop some water into the bottom of your plastic cup. Clip on 2 pegs right at the neck of the brush in the opposite direction. Place your brush into the cup making sure that the bristles aren’t touching the bottom of the cup. Then your brush is all ready for your next project! Just make sure you change the water regularly.
Some other handy hints:
- Let your Cling On! absorb some water before you use it the first time.
- Just use the tip of the brush to achieve a smooth even finish
- While you’re waiting for a coat of paint to dry wrap your brush in cling wrap to keep your brush nice and moist
- If painting outside in the heat, keep a cup of water close by to give your brush a quick swish to keep your brush supple
Happy Painting!
