Up cycled “Love Create Inspired” Cupboard

Here is a sweet cupboard that I saved from a local garage sale. I have been wanting to fix it up to use in my craft room for storage, as I very rarely keep anything that I save because I love to see my work bring joy to others instead!

I left the wooden top as is because some time ago on Pinterest I saw a great little coffee table with stenciled numbers on the wooden top and just loved the contrast and thought that I would give this a go myself!

To kick this fun project off, I gave the whole cupboard 3 coats of my Mint Coloured Chalk paint and then lightly distressed using 120 grade sandpaper and a bit of elbow grease of coarse!!

I then went and printed out the words “Love, Create Inspire” using my inkjet printer and traced onto the top of the cupboard using carbon paper and my stylus.

Now for the fun bit!!! I then hand painted, using the traced lines as a guide, all of the words and let it all dry completely. The paint I used was a Americana Lamp Black and a number 3 round brush.

This is the end result after blocking in all of the words.

Then using 120 grade sand paper I lightly distressed the words to give it a nice aged look.

Then to seal in all of the yummyness I waxed the entire cupboard using a chux cloth and wax and dah dah the cupboard is all ready to store some of my craft goodies!

I hope this might help you in some way to up cycle and save a favorite piece of furniture in your home to!

Warm Raggedy Blessings!
