Repurposed Farmhouse Plate Rack

Over the weekend, I gave my kitchen a declutter and a BIG clean! Meaning alllll  of those huge big jobs, like cleaning the oven, kitchen cabinet tops, pulled everything out of each cupboard, cleaned and purged! BIG job but I am so glad I did it! Right at the very back of one of my cupboards was a plate rack that I had painted about 10 years ago and thought that I would turn it into a Repurposed Farmhouse Plate Rack and be able to display some of my sweet Vintage plates that I have collected.

After cleaning out my kitchen I found this old plate rack and gave it a new lease on life! Repurposed Farmhouse Plate Rack tutorial | www.raggedy-bits.com

The Best Way to Distress Furniture

Do you ever look at a piece of furniture after having spent hours on prepping and then painting, break out in a cold sweat because it’s time to distress it? Scared you’re going to ruin your piece furniture? Well, let me let you in on a little secret…When  I first started giving furniture a new lease on life, I really had NO idea what I was doing! I have learnt pretty well much all I know today, from trial and error. Getting the feel for different paints, paint brushes and techniques along the way. Learning what different types of sand paper do but one of the many questions I do get from my customers and readers is what is the best way to distress furniture!

Repurposed Farmhouse Frames

I began the daunting task a while ago giving my house a whole new look. For many years I have always loved Primitive Style Country with gingerbreads and raggedy dolls from one room to the next and thought that I would never get tired of seeing it. Well, it’s happened!!! Whilst I have kept some things and passed on others, I kept these 3 frames as I LOVE the timber and the tin backing. So rather than get rid of them I thought that I would spruce them up and give them a repurposed farmhouse frames look!

Think twice before you throw out your old pictures! Using some frames that I already had and were dated, I turned them into Repurposed Farmhouse Frames. Full tutorial. | www.raggedy-bits.com
