Over the weekend, I gave my kitchen a declutter and a BIG clean! Meaning alllll of those huge big jobs, like cleaning the oven, kitchen cabinet tops, pulled everything out of each cupboard, cleaned and purged! BIG job but I am so glad I did it! Right at the very back of one of my cupboards was a plate rack that I had painted about 10 years ago and thought that I would turn it into a Repurposed Farmhouse Plate Rack and be able to display some of my sweet Vintage plates that I have collected.
Do you ever look at a piece of furniture after having spent hours on prepping and then painting, break out in a cold sweat because it’s time to distress it? Scared you’re going to ruin your piece furniture? Well, let me let you in on a little secret…When I first started giving furniture a new lease on life, I really had NO idea what I was doing! I have learnt pretty well much all I know today, from trial and error. Getting the feel for different paints, paint brushes and techniques along the way. Learning what different types of sand paper do but one of the many questions I do get from my customers and readers is what is the best way to distress furniture!

I began the daunting task a while ago giving my house a whole new look. For many years I have always loved Primitive Style Country with gingerbreads and raggedy dolls from one room to the next and thought that I would never get tired of seeing it. Well, it’s happened!!! Whilst I have kept some things and passed on others, I kept these 3 frames as I LOVE the timber and the tin backing. So rather than get rid of them I thought that I would spruce them up and give them a repurposed farmhouse frames look!
As we all can probably agree with, space in our homes is sometimes a bit of a challenge! Keeping everything nice and organised can be even more of a challenge. Especially with our very busy lives. I know I struggle and I am always looking for ways to help make my life a little less cluttered and streamlined. So while I have been looking around for things to help me, I thought that I would put a collection together to share with you of my 5 Farmhouse Storage Ideas!
